The Miracle of Christmas - Thank You!

Thank you to everyone who came and shared in the Advent Prayers & Lunches at Hillhead Baptist Church. I estimate that around 25-30 different folk came along, and there were never less than a dozen of us on any one day.

Thank you for donations for Christian Aid. We raised just over £145, which will be passed on via West End ACTS early in 2010.

A Service of Grieving and Gratitude - 1st November 7.00 p.m.

This year's service of Grieving and Gratitude will take place on Sunday Nov. 1st in St John's Renfield Parish Church, Beaconsfield Road.
It gives us an opportunity to give thanks and to express our sense of loss in a gentle act of worship. 
All who have experienced the loss or bereavement are warmly invited.

The Rev Fiona L Lillie, presently of Stromness, will be inducted to St John's Renfield Parish Church on November 12th 2009. The service begins at 7.00 p.m.

Church and Ministry News!

Good News!

Two of our participant churches are in process of welcoming new ministers.

Rev Catriona Gorton was inducted to Hillhead Baptist Church on Sunday October 3rd.
Rev Fiona Lillie preached as sole nominee at St John's Renfield on Sunday October 4th.

After two long 'vacancies' (sic) it is gratifying to know that new ministries are beginning.

West End Festival

This year's Gloria choral evening takes place at 7.30 p.m. in Wellington Church on Thursday 25th June.

Lansdowne Church has 13 Reflections.... have a look and see.

Kelvinside Hillhead has open doors on Saturday afternoons.

Parish Grouping Council News

The Parish Grouping Council met on Tuesday June 23rd.

It 'fine-tuned' its Draft Basis which will be circulated to Kirk Sessions for approval.

The Internal Feasibility Study Group made its interim report and the Council reflected on IFS group's recommendations which will be put to Sessions for further detailed conversation and decision making.

Gloria

Gloria VII


… a celebration of choral music will take place in


Wellington Church, 77 Southpark Ave

On Thursday 25th June at 7.30 pm


The central item in the programme will be Vivaldi’s Gloria, and there will also be shorter Glorias by Mozart and Leighton. Other composers represented will be Mendelssohn, Stainer, Holst and Mathias. The choir will be directed by Cameron Murdoch, with Alan Kitchen at the organ.


West End Festival

This year's procession will be on Kelvin Way on June 14th.

There will be a Parish Grouping stall, beginning at 1 pm and concluding at 5 pm.


Visiting Team

The In House Feasibility Group, (or Penny's Group or is it the Parish Grouping Visiting Team?) is making its way around the churches in the Grouping.

The group has dropped in on Hyndland, Wellington, St John's Renfield, Kelvinside Hillhead and Lansdowne and will be at Hillhead Baptist church next Sunday...
